7-Day Ritual Candles Explained: The Complete Wholesale Buyer's Guide

A buyer's guide for metaphysical stores, botanicas, and spiritual retailers stocking the full 7-day candle family.

What Is a 7-Day Ritual Candle?

A 7-day ritual candle is a tall glass-encased devotional candle designed to burn for approximately seven days, making it one of the most recognizable products in the botanica, Hoodoo, and metaphysical supply trade. Unlike a standard taper or pillar candle meant for short, supervised burns, a 7-day candle is built for sustained ritual, prayer, or intention work — the glass jar contains the flame safely while the wax column burns down slowly over the course of a week. Each 7-day candle is formulated around a specific intention, manifestation, saint, orisha, or spiritual purpose, which is why wholesale buyers need a supplier that stocks the full range rather than just a handful of bestsellers.

For retailers, the appeal is straightforward: 7-day candles are a staple, repeat-purchase category. Customers who burn one for a specific intention — love, money, protection, uncrossing — typically return to buy the same candle again, and often add a second or third intention candle to the same order. That makes this category one of the highest-turnover, most dependable shelves in a spiritual or botanica store.

The Complete 7-Day Candle Family, by Intention

The table below groups VD Importers' verified 7-day candle range by the intention or tradition it serves, so retailers can quickly map their own customer base to the right assortment.

Love & Self-Love: The Category's Top Performer

Love and self-love 7-day candles are, by a wide margin, the single most-searched intention in this category — reflecting a broader shift among spiritual retail customers toward self-love, healing, and personal-empowerment framing rather than only love-drawing work aimed at another person. Stocking both framings side by side, alongside a devotional option like the Oshun 7-Day Candle (Oshun being the orisha most closely associated with love, beauty, and abundance in Santería and Afro-Caribbean practice), lets a single shelf section serve customers across several traditions at once.

Prosperity & Business: Building the Money Shelf

Prosperity-intention candles sit alongside love candles as the category's other high-demand anchor. The Money Drawing 7 Day Ritual Candle is the broad, general-purpose prosperity option, while the Better Business 7 Day Ritual Candle is specifically positioned for customers running their own shop, stand, or service business — a meaningful distinction for botanica and metaphysical store owners who serve working-class entrepreneurial customers.

Protection & Cleansing: The Deepest Shelf in the Category

No other intention group runs as deep as protection and cleansing. Retailers should plan to stock the full set rather than picking one or two, because each candle answers a distinct customer question:

• Protection & Purification 7 Day Ritual Candle — general spiritual protection and cleansing, the most broadly applicable option.
• Uncrossing 7 Day Ritual Candle — for customers who believe they are specifically under a crossed condition or run of bad luck.
• Jinx Removing 7 Day Ritual Candle — for customers targeting a specific jinx rather than a general crossed condition.
• Spell Breaker 7 Day Ritual Candle — for customers who believe a specific spell or hex has been cast against them.

These four candles are closely related but not interchangeable, and a knowledgeable retailer who can explain the distinction to a customer builds trust that keeps that customer coming back to the same store rather than shopping around.

Devotional & Folk Tradition Candles

Devotional 7-day candles serve customers who are burning for a specific saint, deity, orisha, or tradition rather than a general intention. The Santa Muerte 7-Day Candle (also available in red and large formats) serves the fast-growing Santa Muerte devotional market across Mexican and broader Latin American folk-spiritual practice. The 7 African Powers 7 Day Ritual Candle honors the seven orishas collectively and is a staple across Santería, Afro-Caribbean, and general botanica retail. The Triple Goddess 7-Day Ritual Candle serves the Wiccan and pagan community, honoring the Maiden, Mother, and Crone aspects of the Goddess — a distinct customer base from the Afro-Caribbean devotional shopper, worth its own facing on the shelf.

Power & Control: Domination

The Domination 7 Day Ritual Candle rounds out the family for customers working on gaining control or the upper hand in a specific situation — common in Hoodoo and general metaphysical practice, and typically stocked alongside the protection and prosperity sections rather than as a standalone facing.

How to Choose the Right 7-Day Candle for a Customer's Need

Most customers walking into a spiritual or botanica store already know roughly what they want — love, money, protection — but not necessarily which specific candle within that intention fits their situation. A simple in-store sign or counter card grouping the family by intention (using the same structure as the table above) helps staff answer questions quickly and encourages add-on purchases, since customers working on one intention frequently want a second candle for a related concern.

Wholesale Pack Sizes, Pricing & Minimums

7-day candles are sold wholesale by the case, with volume pricing available across the full intention range so retailers can build a complete display without pricing out any single SKU. Because this is a staple, repeat-purchase category, we recommend new accounts start with a representative assortment across love, prosperity, protection, and at least one devotional option, then reorder based on which intentions move fastest in their specific customer base. Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a 7-day candle actually burn?

Burn time varies with room conditions and wick trimming, but a 7-day candle is formulated to burn continuously for approximately seven days when kept lit. Drafts, trimming the wick between sessions, and ambient temperature can shorten or extend that window somewhat.

Can I relight a 7-day candle after blowing it out?

Yes. While 7-day candles are designed for continuous burning, many customers do extinguish and relight them across the burn cycle. Advise trimming the wick before relighting and allowing the full wax surface to liquefy on each relight to avoid tunneling.

What is the wholesale minimum for 7-day candles?

Minimums vary by SKU and are structured around standard case-pack quantities. Contact our wholesale team or visit the 7 Day Candle category page for current case pricing and minimum order details for any individual intention or the full assortment.

What's the difference between Uncrossing, Jinx Removing, and Spell Breaker candles?

Uncrossing addresses a general crossed or bad-luck condition, Jinx Removing targets a specific jinx, and Spell Breaker is used when a customer believes a specific spell or hex has been cast. All three fall under the broader protection and cleansing category and are often sold as a related group.
